Mike-you were the biggest strongest bear. You had the kindest eyes and you listened and were such a strong moral compass. You always knew the right direction to take. You loved and adored Belinda, she was the centre of your world and you were so proud of Sam Maja Dani and Luca. You gave them all space and belief to be wonderful branches from your tree. You will be so missed, but your life was one well lived. Be in peace.

Sorry I was not there for the big send off, I watched on livestream, Mike was one of lifes universal constants: always there for a pint, always there for a mate, always there for his family, and when he was not there, he was a shout out away from being there. A great colleague, a great friend, I am honoured to have served with him, I will raise a Mig for him when the sun goes down.

An amazing thing when someone tells you he has no fear of death because he had such an amazing life just months before he passes. What a great role model Mike was. His compassion and empathy towards me during a dark period was notable and I feel I will always owe him.

Rest in Peace Mike

I am I and you are you, whatever we were to each other that we still are. Speak to me in the easy way which you always used. Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight? Life means all that it ever meant, it is the same as it ever was.
